Introduction
Chests are a major supply for many kinds of resources. I'm sure many of you have wondered, as I did, what are the drop chances for items in chests and what do they drop extactly?
On this page I will answer those questions and supply data to back up my claims. My alliance and I opened over 1000 chests and I ran the numbers to get accurate numbers for drop chance.
For each chest there will be two tables. The first will show drop chances. The other will show how many of each item you can expect per chest. Some items will be a 100% chance to drop but you may get 1 of them but could also get 100 of them. So look at both tables for each item to make sure you understand how each drop works.
Importantly, Chests drop unit upgrade books. When the chest rolls a book to drop it will chose one of the four unit types and drop that one. Each unit type has an equal chance of dropping so I will cound unit upgrade book as one drop rather than stating the chance for any of the four seperately.
Enough with that... Let's see the numbers.
Normal Chests
Normal Chests kind of suck... They are of course worth getting and opening but they don't give you nearly as much as the other two types.
| Item |
Drop Chance |
| Gold (5k) |
35.3% |
| Normal Recruitment |
20.4% |
| Green Dragon Rune |
20.4% |
| Tech Piece |
7.5% |
| Unit Upgrade Book |
20.4% |

| Gold (5k) |

| Green Dragon Rune |
0.2 |
| Tech Piece |
0.08 |
| Unit Upgrade Book |

As you can see normal chests basically drop one item each and only drop these basic items. The main upside to these chests is that they are quite easy to obtain and openeing many of them has a decent yield.
Silver Chests
Despite this being the "second tier" of chests, the silver chest is arguably better than the gold chest. I'll discuss that after we check out the numbers.
| Item |
Drop Chance |
| Gold (100k) |
100% |
| King Crystal (Currency) |
100% |
| Stones (10) |
100% |
| T3 Dragon Armor Scroll |
11% |
| Power Recovery (1 hour) |
100% |
| Unit Upgrade Book |

| Item |

| Gold (100k) |

| King Crystal (Currency) |

| Stones (10) |

| T3 Dragon Armor Scroll |

| Power Recovery (1 hour) |

So silver chests are really good for a few reasons. The obvious reason is that silver chests are a consistant way to get King Crystals and also can drop T3 dragon armor scrolls.
Silver chests also give a good amount of gold and power recovery scrolls which are integral to your game overall. The silver chest does fall behind the gold chest in a few places but the fact that ir drops T3 dragon scrolls and King Crystals is why I think it may be better than the gold chest depending on what you're looking for.
Gold Chests
Gold Chests are clearly meant to be the best of the three chest variants and their rewards are a clear reason for that. Lets check out the drops.

The gold chest shares a few loot drops with the other chests like gold, stones, unit upgrade books, and tech pieces. However, the gold chest drops much more of these items than the other two do.
On top of that, the gold chest is the only chest that drops T2 dragon runes and daniels, both of which in quite decent amounts.
